Background

Dr. Manson worked 15+ years in the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences as a faculty member, program coordinator for the Family & Consumer Sciences Business before retiring in 2015. Manson taught both undergraduate and graduate students (Nutritional Sciences and Individual & Family Development), and served as the Interim Chair  Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, 2006.

She was hired back as an adjunct professor in 2015.  Her other work experience includes:  Assistant Professor at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN and Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, Program Representative for the University of California Cooperative Extension, Moreno Valley, CA, Nutrition Specialist for the City of Riverside Parks & Recreation Department, Senior Nutrition Program in Riverside, CA, and Adjunct Instructor at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Honors and Awards included:  Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Profession in Colleges, University, and Research Awards, 2015, 2013; Teacher of the Year South Carolina State University Department of Family & Consumer Sciences 2005, 2015; Teacher of the Year South Carolina State University College of Business & Applied Professional Sciences 2005, 2015.
