Carmen Thompson

Carmen Thompson teaches nutrition and dietetics undergraduate courses, actively recruits, and advises undergraduate students. She develops policies and procedures for effective and fairly managing all components of the Didactic Program in Dietetics following the guidelines of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). She is the academic program coordinator for the Nutrition and Food Management program.

Background

She has worked at SC State since 2017 as assistant professor and director of Didactic Program in Dietetics. For over 20 years, she has been a registered dietitian and licensed in the state of South Carolina. Her experiences include clinical nutrition as well as public health nutrition. From 2007 to 2009. she was the Lactation Coordinator for the state of South Carolina for the Women's Infants and Children program (WIC).
