Chrystel Rogers

As the University's paralegal, she manages, coordinates and assists the General Counsel in the University's legal affairs and other major roles. She serves as the University's contract manager, sole authority to route all contracts/agreements thru DS and contract depository.

Her dedication and love for the University is proven through her work ethic and time spent working tirelessly.  One can see that her love and dedication to the University makes her job more than just a job but an honor to serve the Bulldog family in numerous capacities. 

Education

  • BA in Sociology/Criminal Justice Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from Claflin University (2002)
  • Associate in Public Service/Paralegal degree (with Honors) from Midlands Technical College (1994).  

Background

Rogers began employment with the University in 1989 as a temporary employee in the Office of the Special Assistant to the President and Director of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Orlando H. White.  Upon Dr.  White's retirement in 2003, she returned to college to obtain her paralegal degree.  From 1995 to 2003, she was employed as the University’s paralegal.  The Office of General Counsel was closed from October 2003 until 2005.  Rogers worked in the Athletics Ticket Office in October 2003 when she transferred to another state agency as their paralegal.

She was rehired in early 2006 as the Office of General Counsel's paralegal where she remains employed.  She has served the University on several committees including the Student Affairs’ Crisis Management Team, the Gender Equity Committee and the Affirmative Action and Diversity Enhancement Committee. Chrystel received the Staff Employee of the Year Award in 2003 and 2017 and the overall University Staff Employee of the Year Award in 2017. 

More About Chrystel Rogers

Rogers' love for her family, friends, church, and the outdoors are of most interest to her outside of work.  Rogers served on Laurel Hill’s Homeowners Association Board, as Chair or co-chair, for seven years.  She sponsored C4 Club volleyball for teenage girls to compete on a national level.  She attends and serves as a member of Orangeburg Baptist Tabernacle Church in Orangeburg.  Rogers and her husband, Chris, have been married for 28 years.  They have one daughter, Cassidy, and one son, Chase; and, they have three grands, Raelyn, Graycen and Cameron.
