Deborah D. Hardison

Hardison supervises 1890 Extension services in the Pee Dee Regional office servicing Chesterfield, Dillon, Florence, Marion and Marlboro counties.  All development, management, and oversight of regional programmatic activities ensuring compliance is done by Hardison, who also prepares and disseminates educational information for stakeholders while reviewing and evaluating programs.

Background

Hardison has had an impressive career spanning multiple industries and roles, showcasing her diverse skill set. With a total of 11 years at SC State, she initially served for 6 years from 2004 to 2010 before returning for another 5 years from 2018 to 2023. During her first tenure, she held the position of Community Economic Development Agent. Her work history includes roles such as Small Business Center Director and Adjunct Professor at Richmond Community College in NC, Owner/Manager of A New Creation Band (a family business), Senior Business Consultant at William Preston & Associates in Columbia, SC, and MIS/Data Manager and Program Coordinator at Pee Dee Healthy Start in Florence, SC. 

Additionally, she has also served as the Program Coordinator for the Financial, Leadership & Development program, held various positions at Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, including Revenue Analyst, Finance Expense Analyst, and Recruiter, and owned a beauty salon called Classy & Sassy. Throughout her career, Deborah has been recognized for her achievements, including receiving the Small Business Center of Excellence Award from the North Carolina Community College System Small Business Center Network in 2015 and the Small Business Administration Award for Collaborative and Economic Development. She has also been certified as a Small Business Director, achieved Lucent Technologies Recruiter Certification, and received the United States National Collegiate Award.
