Judith Mwakalonge

Dr. Judith Mwakalonge is academic program coordinator for the Master of Science in Transportation (MST). Dr. Mwakalonge teaches and conducts research in Transportation Engineering.

Background

Dr. Mwakalonge is an associate professor of civil engineering at South Carolina State University with a specialty in transportation engineering. She has experience in planning and modeling transportation networks, analyzing traffic operational efficiency and safety, and evaluating self-driving in the connected vehicle environment.  Dr. Mwakalonge is an Associate Director of Center for Connected and Multimodal Mobility (C2M2). Dr. Mwakalonge has led several projects of national significance supported by federal agencies. She has published more than 72 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations at national and international arenas.

Research Interests

Transportation safety, Transportation planning, Travel demand modeling, Non-motorized travel, micro-mobility, and connected mobility.
