Dr. Susan Kwosek is an assistant professor of history at South Carolina State University.

Background

Dr. Kwosek has been at SC State since 2019 in her current role as an assistant professor of history. Prior to joining the SC State team, she taught at Chicago State University as an instructor in the Department of Anthropology, and at Northern Illinois University as an instructor in the History Department.

Research Interests

Atlantic world history 1492-1875, with subfields in African Diaspora, African American studies, Latin America & the Caribbean, and religious studies, primarily African-derived religions in the Americas & Caribbean.

Hobbies & Interests

When not working, she is usually scuba diving or reading a book. Sometimes you might find her crocheting or reproducing oil paintings by the great masters in cross stitch. She collects skulls, so her home and office look like it's Halloween every day.
