Effective immediately: ID required for all entering SC State campus

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Effective today (Wednesday, April 17, 2024), South Carolina State University requires anyone entering the university campus to show identification at the gate.

This includes students and employees, who should be prepared to display university-issued identification. Anyone who cannot locate his or her university-issued ID card should obtain at new card at the OneCard office in the University Computer and Information Technology Services complex in the Crawford-Zimmerman Building. A vehicle parking decal is not sufficient for entry.

Each visitor must display a driver’s license or other government-issued identification.

To prevent traffic jams, the university asks that all entering the campus to have their identification ready for display when approaching the gate.
