Robert S. Reese joined the South Carolina State University Board of Trustees in April 2024. He is a resident of Summerville, South Carolina.

Background
Trustee Reese was born in Charleston, South Carolina and graduated from Stall High School. A proud Marine, he served eight years in the United States Marine Corps. Reese retired from the College of Charleston as the Chief of Police, after having served 31 years with the institution. While working at the college, Reese also served as an adjunct instructor in the School of Business.
