Rodney C. JenkinsRodney C. Jenkins (Class of '73) is a member of the South Carolina State University Board of Trustees from Columbia, South Carolina. He is His service has included:

Why do you serve SC State? "I bring genuine compassion and love for SCSU to the Board.  My historical knowledge of the Board and the University provides a continuity to strategically govern SCSU.  I serve to address first generation students and a population that may not have the opportunity to attend college elsewhere.  As a retired CFO from the State Government, my sound financial background will serve the Board well.  Also, my knowledge and rapport with the General Assembly will serve the University and the Board well."

Background

After 28 years of public service to the State of South Carolina with multiple State Agencies, he retired (2009) as a Chief Finance Officer from the Office of First Steps, a children program designed to get children ready for school. At SC Dept of Health and Human Services, he served as Department Head for Reporting and Analysis of State and Federal Appropriations; At SC Commission on Aging, he served as Research and Planning Coordinator of State and Federal Appropriations; SC Dept of Archives and History, he served as Senior Accountant for Historic Preservation. He is  the CEO of PRJ Consulting LLC, which provides financial consultation.

He is married to Patricia Williams Jenkins, and they have two daughters, Marcelite and Cicely.
