Meet SGA President Cephus
Zyah Cephus is a South Carolina State University senior business marketing major from
San Diego, California. She has served as Student Government Asociation for two years.
Why do you serve SC State? "I serve South Carolina State University because of the student body. I have the desire to ensure that bulldog tenacity and excellence are displayed throughout our beloved university."
Background
During her senior year of high school, she was immediately drawn to South Carolina State University's family atmosphere and bulldog tenacity. Zyah currently serves as South Carolina State Universities Student Government Association President for the 2024-2024 academic school year. She has served as Freshman class Vice President and Attorney General, among other roles, in the Student Government Association for the past four years.
Her passion is advocating for students and bridging the gap between administration and student voices. Aside from Student Government Association, Zyah is a member of the Executive Leadership Committee, Emily E. Clyburn Honors College, American Marketing Association, Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society, Dedicating Outstanding Ladies Living Strong (D.O.L.L.S), the Beta Sigma chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and an Ex-officio on the South Carolina State Board of Trustees.
She continues to serve on the platform “Rebuilding Bulldog Tenacity” and will forever be a loyal daughter of South Carolina State University.
