| Description of Duties: | |||||
Reports to the Executive Director for the Center of Excellence in Transportation. Must provide leadership and support to manage the operations of the Center's divisions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness to attain the goals and objectives for the annual operational plan, grants, contracts, and agreements. Direct the senior staff in the planning, promotion, and administration of all programs and activities of the Center. Will manage and monitor expenditures to ensure appropriate use of funds in accordance with program guidelines and Center's policies and procedures. Will also assist in the decision process for hiring, terminating, promoting, and evaluation of office personnel. |

| Qualifications: | |||||
Earned Doctorate Degree in transportation or a related field and five years experience in higher education. Excellent administrative, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven experience in promoting excellence and innovation in transportation research programs. Grant development and management with proven success in the pursuit of local, state, and national transportation contracts and grant opportunities. History of affiliation and membership with professional transportation organizations. |

| Special Requirements: | |||||
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage transportation organizations. A functional knowledge of the history and development of transportation. Ability to develop and sustain effective relationships with transportation organizations, including professional associations, governmental bodies, private sector organizations, and industries to promote and sustain the mission and programs of the Center. Ability to analysis and prescribe solutions to effectively manage the Center's staff and programs. |
