| Description of Duties: | |||||
Provide academic vision for the Department of Visual & Performing Arts and its programs in music, art and drama; leadership for its faculty, students, and staff; and effective day-to-day administration of its affairs. In addition, the Chair must ensure that the department offers quality curriculum instruction and advisement to its students; Chair must recruit faculty and guide and support the professional development of its faculty. The chair will also administer the budget, teach, and do research in one of the department's academic programs. |

| Qualifications: | |||||
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in one of the program areas of Music, Art, or Drama, but preferably in Music. The candidate should have a record of university teaching, administrative experience, and a record of effective management. Candidates should be an Associate Professor or higher in rank. |
