Video Conferencing Courses

The Department of Educational Technology Services (ETS) supports the video conferencing technology at South Carolina State University (SCSU). Video conferencing allows instructors and students to conduct live class sessions while in geographically different locations. Students and instructors experience virtual face to face exchanges when utilizing the classroom technology designed for video conferencing course delivery. Video conferencing capability allows persons in multiple geographic locations to "meet" by transmitting compressed then decompressed television-quality video with audio, graphics, or data between them over fast ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and IP (Internet Protocol) telephone lines. The class room for video conferencing is located on the SCSU campus, Belcher Hall, Room 405. Instructors must submit a Course Delivery Form for video conference course approval. Satellite Broadcasting Courses

The Department of Educational Technology Services (ETS) supports the video conferencing technology at South Carolina State University (SCSU). Satellite broadcasting technology allows instructors and students to conduct live class sessions while in geographically different locations. Students and instructors experience two way audio and one way video exchanges via phone and television when utilizing the classroom technology designed for satellite course delivery. Course instruction may originate from SCSU or be received at SCSU via satellite from another originating source. The classrooms are located on the SCSU campus, Belcher Hall, Rooms 405 and 406.
