In April 2008 the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant was implemented at SC State University. The purpose of the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant is to provide a competitive arena for displaying the talent, poise and oratorical skills of Honors scholars. This exciting and fun competition offers an opportunity for them to represent and showcase the South Carolina State University‘s Honors College in a more definitive way. The Honors College Pageant also serves as a fundraiser for the Honors Program Organization, the registered student organization on campus. Once the King and Queen are selected, they become official ambassadors for the college. The 2011-2012 King and Queen are Faheem Muhammed & Crystal Harris. Faheem is currently a junior in Biology from Jacksonville, Florida and his platform is educating the community in Biological Sciences and environmental awareness. Crystal Harris is a sophomore from Greensboro, North Carolina also majoring in Biology and her platform is to raise awareness of fine arts in the communities. The 2010-2011 Mr. & Miss Honors were Kyle E. Childs & current Miss SC State University A’Deana Jones.
