In April 2008 the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant was implemented at SC State University. The purpose of the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant is to provide a competitive arena for displaying the talent, poise and oratorical skills of Honors scholars. This exciting and fun competition offers an opportunity for them to represent and showcase the South Carolina State University‘s Honors College in a more definitive way. The Honors College Pageant also serves as a fundraiser for the Honors Program Organization, the registered student organization on campus. Once the King and Queen are selected, they become official ambassadors for the college. The 2012-2013 King and Queen are Aaron Russell and Megan Diggs.Aaron is a sophomore from Valrico Florida majoring in Business Management, his platform is to see males empower and Megan Diggs is from Chesapeake, Virginia majoring in Biology. Megan will be overseeing several community service projects for the Honors College. The 2011-2012 Mr. & Miss Honors were Mr. Faheem Muhammed & Ms. Crystal Harris.
