Timothy Arrington and Ashli-Kay Bartley
In April 2008 the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant was implemented at SC State University. The purpose of the Mr. and Ms. Honors Pageant is to provide a competitive arena for displaying the talent, poise and oratorical skills of Honors scholars. This exciting and fun competition offers an opportunity for them to represent and showcase the South Carolina State University‘s Honors College in a more definitive way. Once the King and Queen are selected, they become official ambassadors for the college. The 2014-2015 King and Queen are Timothy Arrington and Ashli-Kay Bartley. Timothy Arrington is a Senior from Durham, North Carolina majoring in Music Industry and Ashli-Kay Bartley is a Senior Biology major from Kingston, Jamaica. Timothy’s platform is to empower the youth while teaching them the importance of the arts. He will spend his weekdays in the elementary schools teaching saxophone and elements of music industry related issues. Ashli-Kay’s platform will be to tutor her fellow SCSU Bulldog family in Biology and Chemistry. Her motto is “No one Left Behind” The 2013-2014 Mr. & Miss Honors College were Mr. Matthew Elleby & Miss Kelsey Butler. Matthew will serve as the SGA Business Manager and Kelsey is the new Miss South Carolina State University. Both will serve this new academic school year.
