Attendance at the Convocation is required of all candidates for degrees unless you have extenuating circumstances that will prevent you from participating in the ceremony.
Applying for graduation is a university degree requirement for all prospective graduates. The application must be filed in the term prior to expected degree completion term. The date of graduation will be recorded for the term of completion.
Failure to clear for graduation will require reapplication and payment of another graduation fee for the next subsequent convocation. All applications for the degrees must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office not later than the date set forth in the University calendar.
It is the responsibility of the student to do the following:
- Perform a Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning (CAPP) degree audit in Bulldog Connection to track your degree requirements
- Schedule an appointment with your advisor to review all degree requirements
- Complete an undergraduate or graduate application for graduation with your department
- Pay your graduation fee in the Cashier’s Office – click May 2014 Fee Chart to view graduation fees
- Submit your graduation application with proof of payment to the Registrar’s Office immediately
Application for Graduation is not considered complete until the fee is paid and a Graduation Application is returned to the Registrar’s Office.
Curriculum, Advising, & Program (Planning)/Degree Audit is the University’s advising tool used by students, faculty and the Staff of the Registrar’s Office to perform degree audits. Please click CAPP or CAPP PowerPoint for Students to review steps on how to perform your degree audit in Bulldog Connection. It is the student’s responsibility to perform a degree audit by using CAPP.
Students will not be eligible to participate in a Commencement Ceremony unless all degree requirements have been completed prior to participation.
Students completing all coursework and degree requirements in May will participate in the May Commencement Ceremony. Students completing all coursework and degree requirements in July or December will participate in the December Commencement Ceremony.
All prospective graduates must file an Application for Graduation and pay the required fee. The Application for Graduation must be filed in the term prior to the term of degree completion by the date noted on the Academic Calendar. The Application for Graduation is not considered filed until the graduation fee is paid and a Graduation Application is submitted to the Registrar’s Office. Students who apply late for graduation will be charged a $25.00 late fee.
Student Responsibility – Undergraduate and Graduate Students:
Students are responsible for the completion of their academic program, based upon the requirements stated in the University Catalog. The advisor is available to counsel, but the responsibility to ensure all degree completion remains with the student.
