The SC State University Foundation is hosting a Golf and Bid Whist Tournament on Friday, June 27 at the Windermere Club in Blythewood, S.C. This inaugural event in the Columbia area is to support SC State University scholarships and to help purchase new uniforms for SC State’s famous Marching 101.
Golfers are invited to join the SC State Foundation for an exciting day of golf on the gorgeous Pete and P. B. Dye-designed golf course. The course is challenging for the experienced golfer and forgiving for the novice. Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place winning teams and to those who win closest to the pin and longest drive. There will also be opportunities to win one of three hole-in-one prizes - a brand new Toyota, a three- day/two-night stay in Las Vegas, Nev. or airline tickets for two.
Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30a.m.; the shotgun start begins at 9:30 a.m. Advanced registration for an individual golfer is $80.
For all of the card players - Spades players looking to change up their game and Bid Whist players looking for some competition - the Bid Whist tournament kicks off with player check-in at 10a.m., with the tournament beginning at 10:30 a.m. Players are competing for bragging rights and trophies.
