SC State University President’s Pinning Ceremony for Freshmen University Scholars

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

President George E. Cooper and the Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarships will host the 2008 President’s Pinning Ceremony for Freshmen University Scholars on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in the Martin L. King, Jr. Auditorium from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The primary purpose of this event is to introduce our scholars to the University family, the Orangeburg community and surrounding areas.

This year we are recognizing over three hundred and fifty scholars at SC State University. Scholarships at SC State University are established through the generosity of private donors, alumni, organizations, business and industry, and the University community. These scholarships are designed to recognize leadership qualities, to reward exceptional academic performance, and to assist academically talented students financially.

The University provides a number of scholarship opportunities for freshmen applicants applying for admission as full-time degree seeking students for the fall semester. In addition to submitting a completed application for admission, applicants who are interested in a scholarship must fulfill the requirements of the scholarship. Scholarships will only be awarded to applicants who meet all admission requirements and who satisfy all scholarship criteria.

This event is open to the University family and to the public. We request your presence at this eminent occasion to help us honor our University Scholars and recognize their parents.
