SC State will host executive speaker Clyde Jones, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at noon in the Belcher Hall fourth floor auditorium. Jones discussion topic will be “Global Leadership Programs to Achieve Diversity.”
Jones joined Automatic Data Processing (ADP) in 2006 as vice president and chief diversity officer. He has more than 25 years of human resource experience in professional services, pharmaceutical, and chemical businesses.
He is responsible for design, implementation, and management of diversity strategies. His provided strong effective leadership, direction and professional expertise in building the framework for the company’s first significant corporate diversity initiative.
Prior to joining ADP, Jones worked as the national director for diversity and EEO/AAP with KPMG. His responsibilities included: maintaining and expanding relationships with organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants, Catalyst, the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, National Asian American Society of Accountants and the AICPA Minority Initiatives Committee.
He was also responsible for creating knowledge channels which served to identify emerging trends and issues to equip human resource professionals at KPMG with the knowledge, tools, and information necessary to better meet human resource needs. Additionally, he was responsible for all of KPMG’s human resources infrastructure operations and related “e-hr” initiatives which included the HR Technology Systems, National Support Services (NSS) HR, EEO/AAP, and the Dallas Human Resource Service Center.
Prior to becoming the national director human resource position, Jones was the director of organizational effectiveness and human resource. Jones received his bachelor’s of science degree from SC State University and a master’s of science degree in Human Resource Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.
Jones serves on the boards of several national and community based non-profit organizations and is an active member in various professional organizations. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Morristown, N.J., where he is a member of the Deacon Board and active in several other ministries.
Jones and his wife Sherra have two children, Chad and Jasmyn.
