SC STATE UNIVERSITY PREMIERES NEW TELEVISION SHOW

Monday, August 31, 2009

On Monday, July 6, 2009, Cable Vantage, Channel 7 in Orangeburg, S.C. premiered SC State University’s first official television show, “A New State of Mind.”

The first 30-minute show chronicled the history of SC State University. From its meager beginnings in 1896, University life was drastically different. “A New State of Mind” took viewers on a pictorial tour from the dairy herds that roamed the farm land, to the many men who used their strength and agility to construct the structures that once graced the campus.

One such structure was Lowman Hall. Our second show, also a lesson in history, highlighted the refurbishment of the oldest, most historic building on campus. Viewers also met the men who once lived in Lowman Hall.

“A New State of Mind” continues to air each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Cable Vantage, Channel 7 in Orangeburg, S.C. Hosted by Erica Taylor, director of University Relations and Marketing, “A New State of Mind” is a show that illustrates the positive aspects of SC State University. In subsequent shows, learn about the services that the University offers, meet our Marching 101 Band and the 2008 MEAC champions.

“A New State of Mind” also currently airs every Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on Comcast, Channel 2 in Charleston, S.C.; every Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Charter Communications, Channel 10 in Greenville, S.C.; and every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Cable Vantage, Channel 7 in Orangeburg, S.C.
