Attorney Eddye Lane will serve as keynote speaker during SC State University’s Executive Speaker Series on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at noon in the Belcher Hall fourth floor auditorium.
Attorney Lane’s topic will be: "Bankruptcy Law: What Does it Mean to Me or My Business?”
Lane operates a solo practice in Columbia, S.C. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Lane has practiced for over 18 years, specializing in bankruptcy and disability law. She also provides services in other areas of the law, including adoptions, wills, contracts, business incorporation, vehicular, and work accidents.
Lane also works closely with the indigent population in South Carolina through her participation in the South Carolina Legal Service Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) program. She proudly sponsors and supports community youth basketball programs, and lends her support to various other community and law-based projects.
Lane is a member of the South Carolina Bankruptcy Lawyers Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the American Bar Association, Toastmasters International (Achievers), Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. and the juris doctorate of law degree from the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
