On Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, begin “living your dreams.”
The Small Business Development Center will present their education and training seminar~”Steps to Starting or Growing a Business,” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Belcher Hall, room 407 on the campus of SC State University. This two-hour session is for individuals who want to own a business or who are interested in advancing to the next level.
Presenter John Goodwin, regional director for the Small Business Development Center, says that every professional should attend this education and training seminar. “The business of business is not an option,” says Goodwin. “It is not enough to have a trade skill without having the business skills to balance your profession. One must realize that a professional cannot succeed without becoming a businessperson,” states Goodwin.
Becoming a businessperson involves accessing your problem solving and decision making style, communicating effectively with your accountant and banker, exploring the steps to growing a business, and knowing the steps to starting a business. According to Goodwin, these aspects of business ownership will be addressed on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009.
Goodwin is recognized for his vast business acumen. He has lectured throughout the U.S., Canada, and Greece. “Bring the questions. You will leave with the answers,” says Goodwin.
