|Who:||President Abraham Lincoln once stated, “Our character is not just what we try to display for others to see; it is who we are even when no one is watching.” On Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, SC State’s Student Government Association (SGA) will enlighten students of what character is and how to possess it.|
|What:||“Character Week” will take place through Friday, Sept. 25, 2009. The ‘Fiscal Responsibility Town Hall’ meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009. The presenters for the ‘Fiscal Responsibility Town Hall’ meeting are Joseph Pearman, assistant vice president for Business and Finance; Sandra Davis, director of Financial Aid; and Charlene Johnson, director of Athletics. During the Town Hall Meeting, Pearman will explain student fees and tuition for the 2009-10 school year. Davis will present and discuss the financial aid process, and Johnson will introduce the students to a new venture on the campus of SC State, the Game Zone. At the conclusion of the meeting, SC State students will vote on a Code of Character.|
|Where:||The Town Hall meeting will be held in the K.W. Green Student Center’s Bulldog Lounge on the campus of SC State University.|
|Time:||The Town Hall Meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. The following events will take place during “Character Week”:|
Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009- The Character Forum will take place at 8 p.m. in the K.W. Green Student Center’s Bulldog Lounge. The Character Forum will encourage students to be conscious of their surroundings and how to present themselves at all times.
Friday, Sept. 25, 2009- The Character Fashion Show will take place at 7 p.m. in the K.W. Green Student Center’s Bulldog Lounge. The Character Fashion Show will showcase various forms of attire, such as professional, casual, and after-five attire. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend all events.
