The Small Business Development Center and the Governor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Assistance, will present their education and training seminar~”How to Do Business with State Agencies and Understanding State Certification for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses,” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. The Department of Public Utilities will host the two-hour seminar in their conference room located at 1016 Russell Street in Orangeburg, S.C.
Presented by the staff for the Governor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Assistance, the education and training seminar will help you understand how to register with S.C. as a vendor, how certification can help you grow as a business, and how to identify which state agencies are available in your region.
John Goodwin, regional director for the Small Business Development Center, says that this seminar is for anyone interested in advancing their business. “The government is the largest purchaser of goods and services and this seminar will give you a better understanding of how to tap in on such a mass market,” says Goodwin. “You will leave with a better understanding of how to register with the government and learn how to find procurement or bidding opportunities,” he states.
