The SC State University Career Center will host the 13th Annual Community Higher Education Council (CHEC) Career Expo on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The expo will be held in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center, located on the campus of SC State University.
CHEC is a collaborative effort between SC State, Claflin University and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. This year’s theme is “One Step Toward A Successful Career”.
Professionals and agencies from across the nation have been invited to share information with students, faculty, alumni and others who would like to enter the workforce to explore a wide variety of internship and full-time employment opportunities. With the current unemployment rate exceeding 12 percent, the CHEC Career Expo is a necessity, says Joseph Thomas, interim director of the Career Center.
