If you are interested in starting a business, you are invited to attend a free education and training seminar sponsored by the South Carolina State University Small Business Development Center. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the 3rd floor development room of Belcher Hall, located on the campus of SC State. Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to determine if entrepreneurship is for them.
Tuesday’s education and training seminar will be hosted by the University’s economic development consultants Sylvia Dunning and Pamela Free. “During this volatile market and turbulent economic times, entrepreneurship is so significant,” says Free. “When you own your business, you are devoid of worries regarding unemployment.”
You must also be prepared for entrepreneurship. “More than half of new businesses fail within the first five years,” says Dunning. “Therefore, we want to ensure that you are prepared. During this seminar, you will learn how to structure your business, research your start up costs and know your credit, all elements that will assure a successful small owned business and will allow you to live your dreams,” continues Dunning.
To register for the seminar, please complete registration form and forward to: Pamela Free, South Carolina State University, Small Business Development Center, 300 College Street, NE Orangeburg, SC 29117. You can also fax your form to (803) 536-8066. You must register to attend.
