SC State University’s Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) will host “Higher Learning,” a concert by Clifford Bussie, on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Dr. Barbara A. Vaughan Fine Arts Amphitheatre. Bussie, a sophomore music industry major who goes by the rap name of Clifford Cartel, will host the concert to showcase his love for art through music. Bussie will perform his current mix tape, “Higher Learning.”
Bussie has always had a passion for music. In high school, he was involved with the marching band where he played percussion. He was also a member of the go go band where he played the keyboard. While growing up in Maryland, Virginia and the D.C. area, he was influenced by local artist’s distinctive sound and style. “As an artist, I rap because it gives me an opportunity to make a difference. I want to open the eyes of my peers so that they can make better life decisions,” said Bussie.
During the concert, there will be special guest appearances from The Majorz, Prince Marc, T. Will and Don’t Give a False Understanding of Creative Kids (DGAF). All artists are students at SC State University.
“The audience can expect to see a great show with lights and a live band,” said Bussie. “I am excited to showcase the talents that SC State University students posses.”
