The Boeing Company Makes Recruitment Stop at SC State

Thursday, November 18, 2010

SC State University students seeking internships or full-time career opportunities, are invited to attend a recruitment session with the Boeing Company. The Boeing Company, with a present workforce of over 158,000 people in the United States and in 70 countries, continues to expand. According to Career Center counselor, Sherry Mack-Michael, representatives from the Boeing company will visit the SC State campus on Thurs. Nov. 18, 2010 to recruit students for careers in engineering, design, marketing and more.

“This visit from the Boeing Company could possibly open the door for students to work for one of the most credible companies in the country,” says Mack-Michael. This credibility is evident in the progress that Boeing has made since its inception. Now the world’s leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of military aircraft and commercial jetliners combined, Boeing has gained customers in over 90 countries around the world, and in terms of sales, is one of the largest U.S. exporters.

Joseph Thomas, interim director for the Career Center, wants students, faculty and staff to understand the significance of a visit from such a reputable organization. “With Boeing’s presence globally, students can work for one of the most diverse and talented workforces in the country, learning everything from electronic and defense systems, to advanced communications systems and support services for commercial airlines,” says Thomas. “Our students have worked hard, and they deserve to be a part of a leading company.”

There will be two Boeing Company recruitment sessions, at 10:30 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m. in the Harold W. Crawford Engineering Technology Hall, room 208. For additional information on these sessions, contact Mack-Michael at 803-536-7031, or Thomas at 803-536-8577.
