Starting a business in a losing economy has its advantages. According to the article, “The Benefits of Starting a Business During a Recession” on the ventureneer.com website, some positives include that during downturns, the marketplace changes more quickly and dramatically and with change comes the possibility of opportunity. Author Geri Stengel also notes that in a bad economy, goods and services become more affordable.
Learn about these advantages of starting a business and more during another education and training seminar on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with SC State University’s Small Business Development Center. You’re invited to the third floor development room of Belcher Hall, located on the SC State campus, to determine if entrepreneurship is for you, to learn how to research your start-up costs, and to begin understanding your credit history and business structure.
