Honoring Those Who Have Served with Distinction

SC State University’s Army ROTC Program will host the annual Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Dr. Barbara A. Vaughan Fine Arts Recital Hall on the campus of SC State University.

The Army ROTC Program Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was first conducted in 1978.  Since then more than 100 notable alumni, local and national leaders have been inducted. In May 2011, General (Retired) Colin Powell became the first honorary inductee into the SC State University Army ROTC Program Hall of Fame. During this year’s ceremony, Lt. Gen. (Retired) Arthur Gregg will become the second honorary inductee. This year, three loyal sons of SC State University will be inducted as well. They are the following:  Maj. Gen. (Retired) Arnold Fields (United States Marines), Brig. Gen. Bruce Crawford (United States Army) and Col. Lentfort Mitchell (United States Army). 

The Hall of Fame Induction events will culminate with the annual SC State University ROTC Program Military Ball for cadets from SC State, Voorhees College, Claflin University and their guests. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at The Cinema, located at 1225 Orangeburg Mall Circle, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115. SC State University has produced over 2000 officers that have served in each branch of the US Armed Forces.  SC State University has produced 16 general officers to date.
