Introduction
This program emphasizes the development of strong counseling skills and the acquisition of a broad spectrum of information needed to assist persons with severe disabilities in reaching their fullest potential. Our core beliefs:
- The option to work should be available to every adult, including persons with disabilities,
- The option to work takes many forms and is shaped by many forces in today's technology driven, pluralistic society,
- This program has a special contribution to make to the profession of rehabilitation counseling in the area of training African American rehabilitation counselors to function effectively in a multi cultural, pluralistic society and to serve as resource persons as majority race counselors come to terms with the new pluralistic equations that are now emerging.
