Which students will receive a laptop?
Only individuals who are completely registered and enrolled in the pre-selected courses that are chosen to participate in this program will receive laptops.

 

How long will I be allowed to keep the laptop?
Laptops are issued at the beginning of the semester and must be returned within 24 hours of your last final exam.

 

Is there a charge for using the laptop?
Students will not incur a charge for using the laptop. However, students are responsible for any theft, loss or damage to the laptop supplied to them, reasonable wear or tear expected.

 

Can I only use my laptop for the class in which it was assigned?
Students may use the laptop for any of their academic related studies.

 

Can I loan my laptop to someone else?
Students are not allowed to loan or share their assigned laptop. Students are held fully responsible for their assigned laptop.

 

Am I required to participate in the Project ASSET Laptop Program?
All students enrolled in the pre-selected classes are expected to have a laptop to use in class with all of the necessary software required by the professor. Students will be required to participate in project evaluation activities.

 

I already own a laptop, how will I be affected?
If you currently own your laptop, you may use it for your class, however, please be advised, that you will not be provided any level of hardware and/or software support.

 

Can I add additional software to my laptop?
Yes, students may install software as long as it conforms to the University’s Computer and Network Use, Ethics and Security Policy.

 

Will classes other than Business and Education be included in the Project ASSET program?
Currently the pilot program only involves Business and Education classes; however, additional classes may be added in the future.
