Job Description

Program Overview Boston Teacher Residency is a nationally recognized clinical teacher preparation program whose graduates support student achievement from day one and who stay in teaching, continuing to refine and improve their practice. Created in 2002 as a joint initiative between the Boston Public Schools and Boston Plan for Excellence, we designed BTR to meet the evolving needs of Bostons children and families. BTR, an AmeriCorps program, combines a yearlong classroom apprenticeship with targeted masters level coursework to provide you with the hands-on experience, feedback, evaluation and ongoing post-graduate support critical to a successful career in teaching. Upon graduation, you will join a network of more than 600 teachers who are among the most effective in Massachusetts. Program Highlights Co-teach in a collaborative and supportive teaching and learning environment under the guidance of experienced educators and content coaches Complete an integrated graduate curriculum, designed and taught by BTR faculty, with specific focus on preparing educators for the realities of Bostons schools and serving Bostons diverse student body Earn a low-cost M.Ed.
