Job Description

The Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship (MLEF) Program provides college students with an opportunity to gain and develop research skills with the Department of Energys Office of Fossil Energy over the summer. This program is designed to increase awareness of DOE research opportunities to students pursuing STEM degrees. Participants will: Obtain valuable experience on mission-related research programs while gaining insight into how the DOE is working to meet the energy challenges of the future; Receive a stipend; and Present research findings at a "Technical Forum". Work Hours:  40 per week


The program is open to students pursing a STEM degree and meet the following eligibility requirements: " Be at least 18 years of age at time of application; " Be a U.S. Citizen; " Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; " Be currently enrolled full-time as a degree-seeking student in an accredited college or university at the Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral level. " Must be at least a college Sophomore at the time of application. " Available to participate in the full 10-week program
