Become a Smile Maker in 2018! Camp High Hopes, a camp for children, teens, and adults with disabilities in Sioux City, IA, seeks camper-focused, compassionate summer staff interested in helping to facilitate a safe, fun, and fulfilling summer experience for campers of all ages. Our summer staff helps further the camps mission to provide a safe, fun, and adaptive recreational experience for people with disabilities through daily interactions with campers in our Day Camp and Sleep-Away (Overnight) sessions. Camp staff are the primary caregivers for campers with disabilities by providing needed personal care assistance and activity adaptation. A summer at Camp High Hopes provides the opportunity for college students and young adults to gain vital job skills and experience, while growing personally and professionally. Positions include: Sleep-Away Counselors, Activity Leaders, Lifeguards, and Day Camp Counselors. Prior experience at camp and caring for people with disabilities is desired, but not required. Weekday, weekend, evening, and overnight work is to be expected. Compensation and housing are dependent on position and experience. On-site Positions from June 6 - Aug 12, 2018 (housing and meals included) " Sleep-Away Counselor: $360/wk (Age 18+) " Activity Leaders: $360/wk (Age 18+) Onsite Positions from May 29 - Aug 12, 2018 " Lifeguards: $360/wk (Age 18+) " Lead Lifeguards: $375/wk (Age 18+) Day Camp Positions from June 6-Aug 3, 2018, (lunch included, no camp week of July 4th) " Day Camp Counselor: $375/wk (age 18+) " Junior DC Counselor: $145/wk (age 16+) Health Center Positions " Summer Asst.
