Job Description

The Food and Retail Intern will work closely with Food and Retail Managers within a high volume food and retail environment. Duties would include, extensive Point Of Sale management that includes inventory valuations, profit analysis, costing out menu items, creating and managing PLU and departments. Will also work closely with Park Food and Beverage Managers in daily operation of high paced concession operations that includes food prep, register operation, placing and receiving food orders, creating daily prep lists, and monitoring food production. Will work with food truck staff on daily operations of CCPRC food truck to see the business management side and potential for growth in this field. Will assist in the development and implementation of a multiple week special event at Johns Island County Park. Will manage retail central store by receiving merchandise, and filling retail orders. Also, will perform inventory analysis to assure proper inventory levels and profitability. The selected candidate will interact with customers, handle suggestions, solve problems and work with staff to ensure a unique experience for our customers. Selected Intern would receive experience working within a series of select areas including Recreational Food Service Management, Concessions operations, Food truck operations, Food service special events , food management procedures (food and retail costing, ordering, menu design and planning, profit planning); retail operations. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled and attending a college or university, taking classes towards earning either a bachelors or masters degree. Typically we are seeking students in their third year of school who have had some specific upper level course work completed related to their major.
