SC State Men’s Basketball Assistant Promoted to Associate Head Coach

South Carolina State men’s basketball head coach Tim Carter has promoted assistant Dwight Evans to associate head coach.

Evans, who is in his second season as a member of the SC State basketball staff,  will among other duties, coordinate recruiting and academics for the Bulldogs and also be responsible for developing the SC State post players, according to Carter.

A 23-year coaching veteran, Evans came to SC State last year after a one season as an assistant at Florida International. He previously served coaching stints at Central Florida (now UCF), South Alabama and Missouri.

Evans played collegiately at Birmingham-Southern, where he earned a bachelor’s in business administration in 1984.
