SC State Names Joe Pearman Interim Vice President for Finance and Facilities

President George E. Cooper announces the appointment of Mr. Joseph M. Pearman as interim vice president for Finance and Facilities at SC State University. Pearman previously served as the assistant vice president for Finance and Facilities at the University. “Mr. Pearman is more than qualified to provide leadership in the area of finance until a permanent vice president is named,” said President Cooper.

With more than 20 years of finance experience, at SC State, Pearman manages all fiscal operations of the University to include the controller’s office, grants and contracts, payroll, procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashiers, bursar and the Office of Budgets; he prepares and presents monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the President, Budget, Audit, Facilities and Grounds Committee, and also the Board of Trustees; he works with external auditors on the annual financial audit, the A-133 Single Audit, the NCAA audit and other sundry audits/reviews performed by state or federal agencies; he also works with the University’s internal auditor on various audits. Further, Pearman responds to various requests to the General Assembly, Commission on Higher Education, Legislative Audit Council and other various entities.
