ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State, Thursday, announced its 2007 football schedule, which includes two Division I-A opponents, according to Bulldog Athletics Director Charlene Johnson.
The Bulldogs, who will celebrate 100 years of football this season, have never played a Division I-A school in football, but this year, will play both the Air Force Academy and intrastate rival the University of South Carolina during the upcoming season.
SC State opens its 2007 season Sept. 1 against Air Force at Colorado Springs, and travels to Columbia Sept. 15 to meet the Gamecocks.
The slate includes five home games, including the home opener Sept. 22 against Winston-Salem State.
Other home games are Florida A&M Oct. 13, Delaware State (Homecoming) Oct. 27, Morgan State Nov. 10, and North Carolina A&T Nov. 11.
Additional road games include Bethune-Cookman Sept. 8, Norfolk State Oct. 6, Hampton Oct. 20, and Howard Nov. 3.
