South Carolina State Softball Falls to College of Charleston

Orangeburg, SC – The South Carolina State softball team, Saturday, dropped a double-header to the College of Charleston, losing 11-3 and 15-0 in a non-conference match-up at Lady Bulldog Stadium.

In Game One the Lady Bulldogs (1-12) went down 3-0 in the first inning but fought their way back to within one by the third inning. The Cougar’s (8-9) put up six runs in the fifth and two runs in the six while the Lady Bulldogs put up one run in the fifth, hence falling 11-3 in Game One.


Game Two was all College of Charleston, as they scored in four of five innings. The Cougars put up one run in the second, four runs in the third, and five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to down South Carolina State 15-0.
Terri Mesko was the winner in Game One and Katie Sansouci picked up the save. TaTreka Polite was the losing pitcher in Game One. Shannon Howard picked up the win in Game Two while Janae Palmer was the loser.


South Carolina State will have six days off before traveling to Rock Hill, SC to participate in the Winthrop Tournament, next Friday-Sunday, March 9-11. The Lady Bulldogs will return home on Tuesday, March 20 when they host Georgia Southern. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
