SC State University in Orangeburg will be the next stop for the McDonald’s® McCafé® Smoothie Fusion Tour with its newest addition to the flourishing McCafé beverage line: Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the K.W. Green Student Center Plaza located on the campus of SC State. This event is an opportunity to offer the community, SC State students, faculty and staff a fun way to cool off from the summer heat and celebrate back to school with McDonald’s. This event is free and open to public.
The McCafe® Smoothie Fusion Tour motor coach is an upscale beverage lounge on wheels and will offer free samples of Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie and the Mango Pineapple Smoothie while supplies last.
The event will feature live music by WSSB 90.3 FM, an appearance by Ronald McDonald, along with many free giveaways and games. Students at SC State will also have the chance to compete for the title of best DJ on campus in a DJ Battle beginning at 3 p.m. The top three contestants will win a $100 gift card, McDonald’s Arch Card and a McDonald’s swag bag. Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to place their business cards in a raffle drawing. Faculty and staff must be present at the event to win. The SC State Cheerleaders and Bulldog mascot will also be in attendance.
“SC State University is thrilled about the collaboration with McDonald’s as we begin the new academic school year,” says Antia L. Dawkins, assistant director of public relations. “This collaboration with McDonald’s is a way to bring the university family and community members together for a day of fun and free giveaways,” added Dawkins.
The 2013 McCafé Smoothie Fusion Tour began in early May and will end in November, making stops in 51 cities nationwide.
