SC State University Remembers Nelson Mandela

Friday, December 6, 2013

The South Carolina State University family joins the global community in mourning the loss of a great world leader, activist, father and soldier for world peace and justice -- Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela will forever be remembered for the profound role he played in bringing an end to Apartheid in South Africa.  Young and old citizens across the globe will remember him as a great symbol of freedom who, through his courageous and passionate activism, paved the way for the indelible transformation of the policies, laws, governments and people that attempted to shackle the everyday liberties and equal rights deserving of all citizens. He, undoubtedly, changed the course of history.

The world has lost a brave and beloved son.
