Orangeburg, SC—The South Carolina State softball team continued to struggle, dropping four decisions in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs (2-25, 0-4 MEAC) lost a double-header to Bethune-Cookman, 9-18 and 6-15. The bright spot of the day was senior outfielder Sade Wilson who went 5-of-8 with four hits in game one. Wilson also scored three runs in the outing.
On Sunday, the Lady Bulldogs were defeated by North Carolina A&T, 4-13 and 2-12. Wilson kept her hitting streak going in Game One of the doubleheader with two hits at four at bats.
Treka Polite and Channell Thompson took the losses on Saturday, while Polite and Janae Palmer were the losers on Sunday.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action at home Wednesday, March 28, at 1 pm when they host Western Carolina. SC State will then travel to North Carolina to take on Winston-Salem State on Saturday, March 31 and North Carolina A&T on Sunday, April 1.
