Miss Orangeburg County Vies for Miss South Carolina Title

Cadra SalleyMiss Orangeburg County, Cadra Salley, is a rising junior and vocal music education major at SC State University and is running for Miss South Carolina 2018. The Miss South Carolina Pageant will take place on June 30 at the Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina.

Salley, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina is passionate about bringing awareness to human trafficking and finding ways to prevent it. Through her platform, Citizens Organized to Stop Trafficking, (COST) she hopes to help protect victims of human trafficking and advocate for laws that prosecute those who commit such crimes.

She is currently a member of the SC State Chorus and hopes to acquire a career as a singer and vocal coach. One of Salley’s most fond memories is meeting Miss USA 2017 and SC State alumna, Kára McCullough, and singing at Kara’s parade marshal dinner during Homecoming 2017.

In addition to singing, Salley enjoys dancing and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

She is the daughter of Carlton and Patricia Salley.

Voting for the People’s Choice Awards is currently open. The contestant with the most votes will automatically advance to the Miss South Carolina finals.
