ORANGEBURG – The next installment of SC State’s weekly Executive Speaker Series will feature Hank Allen, ‘78, regional sales manager for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

The Executive Speaker Series, sponsored by the College of Business and Applied Professional Sciences, is a component of the Leadership and Professional Development Program, which all business majors are required to complete. The series exposes students to various aspects of the workplace, including viewpoints of leaders who are on the cutting edge of business, industry and government.
Past participants have come from a wide array of companies and industries, including Pfizer Inc., Springs Industries, Bowater Inc., Ernst & Young, BellSouth, Black Enterprise, SCANA, Sonoco, Bank of America, Johnson Controls, Milliken & Company and the FDIC.
Hank Allen is a senior regional sales manager for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. He is responsible for managing the pharmaceutical business/sales operations of the company’s largest region, Illinois and Wisconsin, including the management and development of 150 employees and sales exceeding 1.5 billion dollars. Allen has been with Pfizer for 25 years and has held several sales and management positions of increasing responsibility, including district manager and director of sales operations.
Prior to his career with Pfizer, Allen served four years in the United States Army as an infantry officer. Before departing the service in 1982, he achieved the rank of captain.
Allen currently serves as a board member for the SC State University Advancement Foundation and is the past chair of SC State’s School of Business Alumni Advisory Board. He is involved with INROADS Inc. internship program, is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and is a martial arts instructor for Barrington Martial Arts.
Allen graduated from SC State in 1978 with a major in biology. He hails from Camden, S.C., and is married with two children.
