ORANGEBURG – The NASCAR College Tour is making a pit stop at SC State today to raise awareness about the NASCAR industry.
NASCAR will have an on-campus presence all day including informational sessions, giveaways, show cars and the industry will be the title sponsor for a step show this evening.
Early this afternoon, SC State students will get an in-depth look at the business side of NASCAR, learn about career and internship opportunities and diversity within the industry at a Café Takeover. The event will be held between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the Washington Dining Hall. There will also be NASCAR-themed giveaways at the event.
Also, throughout the day, a NASCAR show car will be on display in the Kirkland W. Green Student Center Plaza.
At 8 p.m., the “Bulldogfest Step Show, sponsored by NASCAR” will feature fraternities and sororities competing for prizes that will include a trip to an upcoming race at the Darlington Raceway. The step show will be held in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
According to NASCAR officials, the college tour has been brought to SC State to expose students to diversity within the NASCAR industry and bring excitement to the sport.
