Tuesday, November 20, 2007

ORANGEBURG – About 160 high school seniors will gather on the SC State University campus for College Summit’s annual Peer Leadership Conference.

The Peer Leadership Conference will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Staley Hall Auditorium on the SC State campus.

The Peer Leadership Conference serves as a special opportunity for the students to convene and see a college campus in action. During the one-day conference, students will meet with SC State University admissions officers, hear from campus organizations and talk to a panel of student and faculty leaders from SC State.

The students previously attended College Summit’s Peer Leader Workshop this summer. During the four-day workshop students were introduced to the college application, admissions and financial aid processes. They also spent a significant amount of time developing their personal statements and identifying colleges that met their career development needs.
