SC State University’s Office of Admissions, Recruitment, and Scholarships will host "The Great SC Public College Bus Tour" on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in the Kirkland W. Green Student Center. The activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m.
The SC Public College Bus Tour is a partnership between 12 public institutions throughout the state of South Carolina. During the toue, SC State University, and the other's will have exactly three hours to showcase there University.
The Bus Tour is designed to acquaint school counselors and career specialist with college life on the public college campuses and the many academic, social and extracurricular activities they have to offer.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our University. The guidance counselors and career specialists will not only find “a new state of mind” at SC State but many extraordinary changes that will make them proud to encourage students to attend SC State,” says Sylvia Robinson.
This year, 30 educators will tour SC State's campus seeking information about the academic programs and majors. While on campus, they will attend an opening program, visit the Nuclear Engineering Department, as well as the I.P. Stanback Museum and Planetarium. Counselors will also have the opportunity to interact with a student panel in the Career Development Center and see a demonstration of classroom technology in the College of Business and Applied Professional Sciences.
