Marshall T. Rainey recently received a certificate by the National Scholarship Service recognizing him as ‘College Representative of the Year’ at the 2007-2008 National Scholarship Service’s Student College Interview Sessions.
Rainey is the senior recruiter in the Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarship at SC State University.
“Mr. Rainey is actively engaged with all student encounters demonstrating “high expectations, high performance” and recruiting the best and brightest scholars for SC State University,” said Dr. Valerie Fields, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs.
Established in 1946, the National Scholarship Service (NSS) is an organization that assists in gaining access to post secondary institutions. The Student College Interview Sessions (SCIS) are college fairs which bring high school juniors and seniors together with admissions personnel, financial aid, officers and alumni.
The Student College Interview Sessions began in 1963.It was used to facilitate an exchange of information and assist colleges in recruiting the countries brightest and best students. Over 3,000 recruiters from post secondary institutions across the nation participate in these interview sessions annually.
The Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarships is honored to have such recruiting talent among its ranks. Winning the honor entitles Rainey to receive two round trip tickets on Delta Air Lines to any place in the continental United States.
